I was thinking about this crisis we're in. How a crisis is sometimes good for us ironically. The scariest times in our lives can be an unexpected gift.
When my daughter battled cancer it was such a scary awful time. But she says now that the results of what she went through caused her to seek God and ask Him if He would reveal Himself to her, to show her if He was real. And He did show her. And now she believes in Him and is right with Him.
She said if she wasn't brought to the end of herself and at deaths door, she probably wouldn't have sought Him out. She said cancer saved her soul.
A lawyer client I used to have used to love to ask questions about my faith and we'd go back and forth talking about religious topics.
He was always so angry that God let his mother suffer when she was dying. He said that she was so kind and such a wonderful person. Why did she have to go through that he'd say.
I prayed and prayed in my head asking the Lord for wisdom to give my client some comfort and insight as I felt really bad for him.
The Lord popped something in my mind. I told him that my grandma was suffering as well leading up to her death. My grandma had mentioned that she didnt realize that she wasn't ready to die. She said she had to get right with the Lord with some things she didn't realize was in her heart.
I told him that maybe God knew his mom needed more time to get right with Him like my grandma did. And that maybe the suffering was part of that process. A kindness that didnt seem like a kindness but in the long run it was.
I feel like us humans can be extremely stubborn, including myself. Suffering can cause us to cry out to God, see things in a different perspective, even can save our souls.
I was thinking, how many people really think about death? We usually only think about it seriously and get nervous about the afterlife when we're at deaths door, or when someone we know dies. And it's crazy because its inevitable for all of us to die. We're all going to die someday, we just dont know when.
We all know stories of people who woke up not knowing they would die suddenly that day, and we also know people that knew they were dying and had some extra time to ponder and plan about life and eternity.
This crisis is another reminder that we are not invincible. Many of us will definitely survive it, but I hope this causes us all to check ourselves where we're at spiritually and ask ourselves, am I right with God? If I were to die am I going to make it to heaven? It's the most important decision we all can possibly make.
I'm not a know it all, and I hope no one thinks I'm talking down to anyone. I just care and want everyone to be in heaven someday ❤.
I see death a lot working at the funeral home for the last 13 years. Mostly elderly people that have lived a long life that had plenty of time to ponder about life and death. Yet also alot of younger people as well that died quickly without warning.
When I look at them I always think, where did they go? I see a body that has no soul in it anymore, just a body that used to carry it. Their soul went somewhere, I just don't know where. I dont know what they decided on this earth that determined where they went for eternity. I dont know most of them. I can only read their obituaries and hope.
It really puts life in proper perspective.
I hope this crisis puts things in the right perspective too.
I hope this crisis puts things in the right perspective too.
God is a loving God. He says this in Scripture:
"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
